Mary McDonnell

 

Mary Eileen McDonnell, born April 28th 1952 was an American actress who appears on stage, TV, and film. She was nominated for the Academy Award for her roles in Dances with Wolves as Stands With A Finger and Passion Fish as May-Alice Culhane. McDonnell is best known for her roles in Battlestar Galactica as President Laura Roslin as well as First Lady Marilyn Whitmore, and Rose in Donnie Darko. McDonnell played Captain Sharon Raydor on seasons 5-7 of TNT's series The Closer. She also appeared on Major Crimes, the spin-off series of TNT's network, as the Commander Sharon Raydor.
